(Don't worry, no Harry Potter spoilers)
Whoa.
So I started reading Book 7 yesterday afternoon right after I got it around 3:30. Stopped after chapter 16 to go to a Gayla Drake Paul concert at Cafe P, and mucked about online a little after that, and read a little bit more after that. Kept kind of dozing in and out till about 2am when I went to bed properly. I woke up around 10am I think, and have been reading Harry Potter till about 20 minutes ago, only stopping to pee, drink a little bit of water and nibble a bit of chocolate that just happened to be in the room with me. Thank goodness G had made some soup, because once I finished around 4:15 I immediately came downstairs and devoured a bowl of soup and rice.
Still kind of processing the story, still think I missed a few points, but I somehow feel that I have achieved something great by finishing it this weekend. Not that it was hard, I love reading and I read fast. Plus I'm sure there are plenty of other people who got theirs a bit before me and didn't take a break to go to a concert or anything and were already done way before I was. And it's really a ridiculous claim to fame, or whatever... I guess I've also protected myself from spoilers. I was so mad when I found out some things about the end of LOST this season before I got the chance to watch it. (We watch online, but we missed several weeks because of our trip and such.) So now if I happen to stumble on a website or see a newspaper headline (that's how it happened in Scotland for LOST - granted it was weeks after the show aired, they probably thought the coast was clear. grrr.) I won't have my fun ruined. So there. My biggest problem will probably be forcing myself to lend out my book if someone wants to read it - it's the first HP book I've bought myself, so I'm a tiny bit attached to it, but who am I to be, when other people lent me their copies of the previous ones?! So yeah, I'll just have to get over that!
And I even have a few hours of my weekend left! Ha!
