Another successful party at the Miller's house

Oh yeah baby! Pulled it off again somehow. Not that I get to really hang out and see anyone. This is why people hire caterers.... But yeah, like 20 of his friends showed up! I'm so impressed. Mr I don't want to have a party! The puja was pretty awesome too! SOOOO glad I came across the boxed cream of butternut squash soup, there's NO WAY I would have pulled off making 2 soups in one day. and I added some cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and maple syrup to it, so I gave it a touch of me. ;) And nutso! Besides my family - there were like 2 other people from the US. We had birthday songs in French, Spanish, English and Swahili (I think?)! It was super awesome and sweet. It was really fulfilling to see how many other people were there to celebrate my favorite person, and I said so in my toast. Improv! G was like "Can we have a toast?"

"sure, who's toasting?"

"You."

"Really?!"

But I did it. yay!

Left him a bottle of the juice he drank every day in Montreal on his desk in his office. bet that was a nice little surprise! Some dude from his work let me into the actual room! Got a couple more to give him too, wanted to spread it out over the day, but the day is pretty much over. Ah well.

People ate tons of food! The bread was gone in like minutes! Glad I snagged a little bit for myself before it was all gone. Lots of dishes. Still I think it's better to use less paper.

Ohmygod. So my bike seat freaking FELL OFF yesterday while I was trying to ride to work. I mean, it had been getting wiggly, but it just fell apart! Talk about the straw that breaks the camel's back. Like there are all these things I want, and then my only mode of wheel transportation I can call my own breaks down too? I guess technically I have roller blades, but I don't know how to use those well enough to be practical anyhoo. I was feeling mega sorry for myself over that. Although there was a tiny, weenie little spark in me that said, "you know, if I wasn't so freaked out, this would probably be funny." I mean, what are the odds?
So I walked myself to Poker night. Josh got his sexy new chips. They make nice clinking noises. I had a couple really good hands, up to the point I was able to trade in for the extra-sexy-spent-some-time-in-Tiffany's-cleavage-the-night-before black $1 chips! :D I came away 70 cents richer, and it could have been more, but I wanted to actually play for my last round... Oh well, it was fun. Ben was actually thinking a little while he played, so he didn't scare everyone off in the first rounds of betting and stuff. Tiffany was actually playing, and I think we have similar strategies so far! Is it a girl thing?
G came to get me. So glad at least his car is working. Really hope it gets me to KC and back with no fuss tomorrow.
