That's about where my brain is right now...........
Madness. I think I had a good weekend. Went to see Jennie's play in Grinnell on Friday night. We were late, almost didn't get in, but this lady came out who had started coughing, and the door girl figured since she had to let the lady back in we could squeak in behind her. Thank god, I didn't want to have driven all the way up for nothing! The girl probably thinks I'm obnoxious, but argh. I so was not about to turn around and walk away... Jennie was very good. Totally natural, if you can say that about such over-the-top characters. I told her that the play reminded me of a PBS production, and I meant that in the best, nicest way possible. Really. It was a restoration comedy, and I thought they were very professional. Could have been on TV. Couldn't quite understand the Scottish guy all the time, and I think if we'd been watching if from the middle instead of way on the side it would have been a bit better visually, but the set was pretty awesome. Sliding flats and all - what is that system called? groove and something?
My mom and I went to a collage workshop Saturday. I guess this lady is new to town, and she's an Art Therapist. Mom and I being old pros at various types of therapeutic methods jumped right on in and got some good stuff out of our collages. I cut out way more than I had time to paste up... I hope I keep it up because I think it'd be awesome, and it's a good outlet, and it's sorta like tarot cards or something, it tells you what you need to hear... My first picture was a moon, and I got a lot of good stuff about how the beauty and light of the moon is always there, night or day, whether you can see it all, it exists and to trust that in me as well.
Lucia called me late Saturday afternoon to see if I wanted to go for a walk. It was kinda drizzly, but pretty warm. We went around Chautauqua several times, did 25 jumping jacks, smelled a few of the roses and went back to my house and did program. It was only 20 min, but man I went deep. Way better than the domes... I'm gonna miss her A LOT! She's been a good anchor/buddy for exercise type stuff. Plus we get to talk about good things while we walk. She's leaving on Tuesday. waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
Saturday night was improv. Chris Poole was our talent. He's adorable, and good! Only been playing half a year! He also jumped in to a couple of our games and did awesomely for not having played with us before. I wonder if he wants to join? We could so use him for music too, he really held his own while we sang a blues song about Sardines. It was Kevin's last show for a while since he has other commitments coming up. boo. He's so brilliant, and brings out good stuff in other people too. And he wore silver lipstick! I think we really need to actually rehearse more than for a few minutes before the show.... I mean, we pull it off fine and all, but I think we could be super brilliant if we were really brushed up on the basics. Celeste could really help us out in that area. It's really a matter of finding enough time to rehearse among all our busy schedules.... Geez louise, I DON'T want to do another TV format show if we haven't rehearsed it in a month! Ananda, Kevin, Lucas, G and I went out to 2nd St after the show. That was fun, I don't really get to hang out with everyone much other than for the shows and all.
Got to hang out with Jen and Lu at 2nd St again for Sunday lunch. Then we went to Lu's while she made phone calls about where she's staying the first few days in London. Watched the video of her performance in Boulder, and then the end of our 11th grade "Striptease" video. The thing is, it's so goofy and innocent, and we thought we were like ubersinful at the time we made it, it's pretty damn funny. I mean, no skin at all, except for a few accidental flashes, just goofy outfits, semi slinky dancing to the soundtrack from Priscilla Queen of the Desert, which is mostly ABBA I think. (god I love that movie... ought to get it for my own) Often times our heads are cut off because no one is actually manning the camera, it's just on a tripod. and no editing, so we'll stop and discuss "Oh, we need to do the final dance!" etc. Plus there is the part in the middle where we accidentally taped over Jenna's dance, and it's all of us in our PJ's, with washed off mascara raccoon eyes. "Is it recording?" "No, it's just on" "It's flashing the little red light....." "It's recording! Oh turn it off, turn it off! the little red button by the thumb, the thumb!" Good times, good times. Then Tyler came to pick up Jen so she could get back to IC for a dance rehearsal, and I gave Lu a Reiki session. I'm pretty sure she fell asleep, but her mom came at the end of it, so I don't know if she actually fell asleep, or if she was faking so her mom would go away... but I think she really fell asleep.
G took me to work, I finished another catalog page, and we went in search of food and a movie. We realized that if we waited another 15 minutes we could get a second sub for 99cents, so we picked out a movie first - Chasing Papi I think it's called. One guy has 3 girlfriends in different cities, they all come to LA to surprise him at the same time, catfights and girl power ensue, all while he's asleep from taking half the tranquilizer his doctor prescribed for his high blood pressure due to the stress of dating 3 women... Yeah, it was pretty bad, but you know. I like the cheeze. Rests the brains. But actually we watched it in English with Spanish subtitles, so my brain was working a bit to try and find new words. and then we switched the languages and watched the first few scenes again. I AM getting better, but still a long way to go.
