This weekend

Wow, it was packed. Perhaps a short list, with elaborations as I see fit?

FRIDAY:
thought about going to Open Mic at Morning Star. By the time I got out of the house it was late, and we'd just been talking about arequipe, so I was inspired to make some, and bought ingredients, and commenced the stirring. Didn't take as long as the web recipies said it would, but they also left out some important tips that I figured out after the fact... But now I know. And it's freakin yum.

SATURDAY:
Yoga. w00t. kicked my ass. afterwards was just LOVING being in my body I felt so wonderful. Kind of like after sex. Honestly. That good. (wow. I just said that in my blog. I think I'll be brave and leave it up. That may have been the first time I ever aknowledged in writing that I know what sex is and how it feels like. But I'm not going into detail. So there.)

I went to a free poetry workshop with Diane Frank at Revelations at 2pm. That was very cool. I brought her the Goddess Mix, and my concert CD. And she was like "Take a book. Take two." And she signed them. dang. What a useful thing to have, this concert CD. I think artists need something like that to trade with other artists... scraps of poetic words have been tumbling out of me ever since. Thank god. I was feeling dried up and scattered.

Downstairs I go, and who should be there but BROOKIE!!!! In town from NYC for one day only, and I had been afraid she wasn't going to call me! Sat and talked with her and Kurt(? very nice guy...), and Libbet came and joined us and asked all the questions I never know how to ask, even though they are simple, "How is X? What are they doing?" duh....

Met Brookie at Footloose. She and J.Bailey bailed at intermission, but I was loving it! For reals. It was so waaaaaaaaaayyy better than some of their other stuff, and I liked the story and the band and yeah they had technical scuff-ups, but they were having a great time singing and dancing their hearts out. I think their whole drama department is improving or something...

Got a ride with Brookies parents to Paradiso and saw Soma and a ton of girls from her HS class there, and listened outside the door to some awesome Irish music, but didn't pay to go it because G was coming to get me for:

BOWLING! With Jyoti, Ananda and Amy. I got second place. And the dragon tattoo, which I traded with Jyoti for my toasty shark so we would be consistant to last time.

Then we went to Torino's and played rummy. And got pizza and then onion rings and then fries and then onion rings and fries. yikes. no good, honestly. but yummy... argh.

SUNDAY:
Went to Paradiso to have brunch with Alexis and her mom. They were not there. I did not have any money. I went to the ATM. I came back. Got a mocha. They were not there. I drank my mocha and wrote sad poetry. They came in. Alexis had spent the night in Iowa City and driven back that morning. Alexis' mom bought me a pancake. It was huge and I didn't eat the whole thing. We caught up and had fun talking about Fairfield and the ArtWalk. Pat stopped by at the end and we took pictures.

Dashed off to Everybody's to get fruit. Not much there, but I got a pineapple, mango and some canned mandarine oranges. Had some apples and the peeler/corer. Brought it all over to Jyoti's and chopped it all up. Luckily it was all ripe, I was worried when I bought it. Also brought the cinnamon arequipe. Very popular. had it on pancakes instead of syrup. Was soooo nice to be in a kitchen preparing food with girls. I think it must be a yagya of some kind. Each woman has her own part, helping a bit to find the right utensils, peel an apple, wash a bowl, and then like magic it all floats down to gather on a table and you have a mini feast. Had very good conversations as well. Silly university. Gheezee was growing weed in his room. How wacked is that? Found out Beth reads this sometimes (Hi Beth! leave me a comment sometime!)

Girls went off to Early Prog, I followed T to her place and we talked logistics of her ceremony. I think it's going to rock.

Directly from there I went to Soma's and saw some of her photos. She's gonna put em in ArtWalk in June. Then we came over here and scrapbooked for a couple of hours. Cancelled improv since Collin and Nandi weren't going to come...

Watched Malcom, and the episode of Star Trek G taped, and then Blue Crush. I guess it was cool technically, specially the wave camera stuff. I thought G was going to take it back, but it was here in the morning... oops. well, it was after 12 anyway.

MONDAY
Woke up not happy about going to work, but dad had a bunch of errands for me to do, so it actually wasn't that boring. Got a lot of invoices done actually...

And I called the apartment lady (see entry below) So all-in-all not a bad day I think!

So much for a short list. Mom is home. No more Collin police. or at least not as hard core. That was the not fun part of the week... prrrrrr.
