Organic is good!

A couple nice articles about organic farming: one and two

The first one is especially nice to read, since I've been getting a little frustrated with organic prices vs. my budget...

Erin and Dave came down this weekend, really good to see them, brief though it was!

I think/hope I left my ATM card in the machine. I mean, I wish I hadn't, but since I can't find it I hope that is where it is! grrrrr. I had wanted to make a deposit and get money out, but I didn't have time to go all the way out to my bank and do both, so I just got the cash out, and then when I went out to my bank, I didn't have my ATM. grrr. The whole point being to SAVE myself some time this week, and now I'll have to go through a whole EXTRA hassle. grrr.

G and I went to a croquet tournament on Saturday. 2 of the Roberts from work organized the whole thing. It was pretty fun. They mowed the grass just in the court area, so if you got knocked off, it was harder to get back on, and they set up flood lights so we could keep playin after dark. The funniest thing was they set up a PA system and did a running commentary pretty much the whole time people were playing. It got really good during the wildcard finals and the finals. Hans ended up winning and he was just SO happy about it, you could tell it REALLY meant a lot to him to get to wear the winning jacket and tie. G and I had to sign up as a team because they could only have 16 slots, and we ended up last, in both our games I think, but we hadn't really ever played before, and it was fun anyway. And I met some new people and visited with some old acquaintances. Cat is cool. The front part of her hair is blue! She took me and H over to meet the cows. They were just babies, the "big" one was 4 months old. We were petting them and the big one started sucking on my hand. It was the weirdest feeling, the tongue was a little bit rough, but not too bad, and I don't think he had all his teeth yet. Cat said she had a guy friend who tried to get a calf to do the same thing to a different part of his anatomy, and it was painful for him, and funny for everyone else. geez louise, I can imagine. Powerful mouth there! H was petting the big one and he stepped on her toe and her finger slipped into his butt!!! She freaked out a little, but it was soooooooooooooooo funny! The cow saliva was really slimy though - wow! sweet sweet animals.

Rehearsal was painful for me this morning. Singing, but my head was all stuffed up, even after doing neti. I guess you can wash out your nose, but that doesn't take care of the rest of the head, and doesn't stop from creating more mucus really. Anyway, my range was low, and I couldn't really hear myself. Sigh. It was Kirsi's Birthday, she wore a tiara in the morning and a little crown of stars in the afternoon. I made her one of the petal fold cards and got pretty much everyone to sign it, and luckily Andy went around to make sure everyone else did too. yay! I think she liked it. I'm getting better at the dance stuff though, I can tell when I hit it. I have no idea if I have any style for it, but I still have time to get that. I hope the principles are getting enough time on their other scenes and songs! I told Jan that if I was sewing my own costume I needed to get a pattern and the fabric ASAP so I had enough time to work on it, what with my schedule and all. I'm a little nervous, it's fancy pants fabric, but it should be ok if I take it slow. I hope it looks pretty. I REALLY need to lose some weight. Still not really motivated to do it... argh...
