I FOUND IT!!!

Thank goodness! After a week of worrying and searching, it turns up inside a 3-ring binder in my office!!! phew! I guess I'd looked everywhere but there... :P I was so sure it was at home because the last time I could remember using it was Monday night when I went to pick up G, and I knew for sure I didn't listen to it at all at work on Tuesday. My theory - I got it out to listen to it and placed it on my open notebook at hands distance, but at the last minute was called away to a meeting. Wanting to keep it out of plain sight, I simply closed the cover of the book. The rest of that day was busy and I forgot about it. Today the office manager got us little space heaters which we promptly plugged into our battery box for our computer - yes, collective groan from the computer people who know that that is a super no-no. We didn't, obviously. Well, I knew enough to ask, but I asked the wrong people. Sure enough, about an hour or so later, maybe less, my feet are warmed up and I go to turn it off. Circut blows. :( (why did that happen when I turned it off?) Our computers are still ok because they are plugged into the battery box things, but they start making that hideous screechy beeping sound. I save everything and shut down, unplug the heater, turn off the box and turn it back on, but still the screechy beeping. I call V, who is like "Oh no!" when I tell him what we've done, but can't finish fixing it before lunch... Somewhere in the middle of this shutting down and cleaning up my desk process I open the cover of the notebook and there, low and behold, frosty glowing pretty pink and silent is my iPod! I show Stacy and call G right away, both of whom are amused at me. I had asked my girls to help say a prayer to St. Anthony for me, and I dunno if they did or what, but I think even the power of their attention just reading about it probably helped. Hooray! Thank you, thank you, thank you St. Anthony!!! And everyone who thought good stuff about me finding it! Oh happy day!

In other news, I'm working on my Halloween costume. I'm a bit anxious, since I'm half making it up pattern-wise (refused to buy the $16 pattern that was pretty much exactly what I was thinking of and went for the $3 one that was fairly close), but it's a costume, so it's probably all good... It's probably the first time since like ever that I actually started on it BEFORE the night before I had to wear it, which is pretty impressive, but also seems to put a bit of the pressure on. I also feel a bit of pressure since I tied for first in the costume contest last year, so people probably expect something good. The hat is pretty outrageous in any case... We'll see how it all comes together. I'm a little worried that I'm spending so much time on the outer part that I won't have anything to wear under it. Sigh. Can probably always go for basic black.

Raggie's in town, fun to hang out with her and get to know Martin. Nice guy, very sarcastic and funny, although it takes a little time to catch on to his sarcasm, probably because of the accent, but once you do, heh heh, good stuff.
