Blogging from home early!

Woot! Ok, so I guess it isn't as cool as if I had done this at 3:15 when I got home, but hey, I'm usually still at work on a normal day, so it's still early! It was so incredibly satisfying to get out of work and still have hours of daylight! Yeah, I spent pretty much the whole two hours just now websurfing, just following random trails/links/blogs. Kinda fun to have no purpose and just go wandering in cyberworld. Maybe now that I got to do it in the afternoon, I won't have to do it tonight.

Thanksgiving tomorrow. We're doing lunch at mom's, dinner/dessert at dad's. Another dinner at mom's tomorrow. Too many foods! oof! Kinda sad we can't just do it all together. Oh well.

Rehearsal was interesting last night. My first experience in "The Boogie Shack". It's above MLD. Have to go in the back door, and up the stairs, it's a little creepy. Smells like a hotel room that's been smoked in. Carpet halfway up the walls, and egg carton flats from there up to the ceiling. All sorts of equipment and recording stuff. Probably pretty dusty too. I came in and sorta felt like I was in the way of everything, overwhelmed, unsure, awed by the guys... It was totally amazing to hear those guys do the Dar song. Pretty overwhelming that they were doing it for ME. :O I couldn't really hear myself and not sure if I was on key or sounded good or what, but they sure did. I just need to really work on the song myself so I'm super confident the next time we rehearse.

After the rehearsal I had a brief run-in with that guy with longish blonde hair who is always walking around town and drinking coffee and is probably on drugs/drunk most of the time... I think he might live up there. Anyway, he asked me to write some stuff on a picture he had with a blue marker, something like "Love mom to my everloving son Kevin James (something)" and "Love, Love" He told me he appreciated my playing and had seen me play before. Slightly weird and creepy, but I was two feet away from the guys in the band room if things got scary, and I made it back out unscathed!

Sigh. I'm responsible for the mashed potatoes and salad tomorrow. Prolly should have gone shopping this afternoon, but argh. needed to just veg out. Gonna try out a couple songs right now and see if any of them will work for tonight. Then go to the gym I think. I hope J can come, that would really make me go... Michelle said it's open all weekend, just closed tomorrow.

Oh, and I need to go put Jai in, she's probably getting cold :( . We're pet-sitting this weekend. Yay woodburning stove!!!
