Sick, and Snow!

yeah, I had a hint of in Sunday afternoon, but Sunday night I started getting those shivers that can only mean sickness. :( It came on real fast - fever, chills, headache and swollen glands - and ended up meaning a basically sleepless night, but I kept drinking juice and water - which also meant many bathroom trips. Stayed home and mostly in bed all Monday, had a bit of a hard time sleeping last night, but I think a lot of that had to do with how much I slept during the day. G brought me flowers at night (purple daisies - yay!) and helped me make biscuits since that was the only thing I felt like eating. Used the pizza stone to bake them and they came out pretty tasty. I almost wish I had made some on a baking sheet as well, just to directly compare, but oh well.

So now I'm feeling much better, but not all. Still pretty swelled up glands, and weak. ugh. First time I've been this sick in over a year I think. I maybe got sick once last year, but it was over a weekend. I remember thinking I needed all my time off for the wedding, so I couldn't get sick, but now that it's over, and I still have a bunch of sick days left... It's not like I did it on purpose, but maybe some part of me knew I could afford it on some level. hrm.

Anyhoo, it's SNOWING! not too much, but I heard a bunch of scraping, and I figured it must have been someone scraping off their windshield, and sure enough, when I looked outside, not only is there frost on the cars, there's snow floating around! yipes. I guess it IS that time of year. Is this the first snow? seems like we usually get one around Halloween, but I don't remember any till now. huh.

I need to call the landlords. I'd had this idea in the past about renting out the back studio as a studio. Not that I could afford it on my own. But now that G is switching from student to staff status and had to move all his stuff out of his dorm we're feeling the space crunch even more. After a lot of discussing and figuring, we came to the conclusion that as a couple we'd be spending as much as we already have been on "rent" because the room was essentially the same price as the dorm (prolly a little more for some utils on the room), BUT we'd both get to take advantage of the room and the location was more convenient. So I call the landlords and they tell me that they JUST rented out the room, that very day! ARGH! But they have a 3 bedroom house for $550, available now. And they might be able to come down to $525, or even $500, and do a 10 month lease, instead of 12. G and I talked about it a lot, and I even called the utility company to find out the average utils. $148 per month. $220 deposit. And that was LAST year. Utils are WAY more expensive this year. We could swing it, but barely. Especially with Christmas and our trip coming up. And the hassle of moving. We were thinking of putting some stuff into the back room, not of packing up everything and moving down the street!!! Especially since in like 8 months we would be free to find someplace more our size for more in the $350 - $400 range. Damn. That's kind of a long time eh? If we could find someone to sub-let who we knew would keep it till July, we could go wherever we wanted. There was a place advertised as 3 bedrooms for $350, and with an East entrance, available Dec 1st... unless it's a dump, but yeah. Moving sucks... wah.

I think for now G is going to put some stuff in his office. And we could get a storage space somewhere. I wonder if we could rent some studio/practice room for not too much a month that we(I) could actually use? sigh. Not sure where to look for that. But it would be nice if we could find it. Heated, some place where I could play guitar without being embarrassed. Where I could go/stay late if I wanted. Nice if it was close by. Nice if I could bring my crafty stuff there and just spread out. Wonder if I'd honestly do much there though, for the trouble of getting there, when home is so cozy and internet and TV are so easy? hrm. It's a very cool idea... sigh. Guess I should ask around or something.

Guess I'm gonna try to do a bit of work. I had S send me something I can do from here, although it's a a bit trickier since I'm not signed in and don't have all the internal tools. Argh.
