I survived the Christmas Party

Wah-hoo! It was fun. I even mingled a bit. You know, sat a a couple different tables. Talked to a few different people.

Luckily we were sitting at a table with people who asked tofu and for Martinelli's so we actually got some decent appetizers and something besides nasty water to drink. :) The party was NOT really set up well for non-drinking vegetarians. Oh well. It was INSANE, Regina has THREE parties booked tonight and served us in the main & banquet room, one party in the bar and one party in Cafe P. So the service was a little patchy. Ah well. I was ok with it, but some people were rather grumbly. heh.

It was really fun to play with the band, even though it wasn't totally smooth sailing for me, it all worked out good enough. I mean, considering we only had two rehearsals. I made sure to tell the guys how much fun I had playing with them and they said likewise, I hope they meant it! Probably if they didn't they could have said something else like "No problem", so probably they meant it.

Here's some pix of me performing! yay! I feel all cool and stuff! I did Echoes by Dar on the guitar and Fly Me to the Moon just singing.

Fly me to the moon ended up a sing-a-long, yay!

I got the dancing started :) Roy & Tammy tried, but I was the one who actually stayed out there long enough to get people ok with coming up. Like once I was going, those two were ok with staying up, and then other people joined in. Some people were REALLY getting down, it was fabulous!

Was totally spazzing about what to wear earlier in the day. I had this top I got the day after Thanksgiving but nothing to go with it. Stayed up till 2:30 the night before trying to make a skirt but it was not going to work, so ended up driving to Ottumwa and trying on every purple, black and turquoise party item that Fashion Bug had in the store. (Well it felt that way!) I bought more than I needed because I couldn't really tell in the store what worked or not. Luckily Payless was right next door, and a Subway was in the same strip, so the only other place I had to go was Target for some socks. I ended up with some cute pants that have subtle little purple shiny pinstripes, that I can also wear to work and stuff.

Lucky for me, my dad called as I was on my way to Ottumwa and could tell I was a bit freaked out. He must have talked to April because she called me about 20 minutes later offering jewelry and stuff, so when I got home I was able to try stuff on for her so she could help me decide, and the jewelry she loaned me was just the thing to spiff it up to party cuteness! Yay! Also, since I was there and talking about all I had to do to get ready, my dad said he could re-string my guitar and bring it over for me. Yay super dad!! It sounded so much better!!

I'm SOOOOOOOOOOO excited because we're going to rent a room in the Broadway Building that we can use for some storage and I can use as a crafting studio! Hooray! Space to do my stuff!!!! It's a little weird because it's in part of a 3 room suite and I can't use in on Sunday mornings because someone else uses the big room then, but Sunday morning is usually time for sleeping and brunching and such anyways. AND wonderfully, rent is month to month, so when we get a bigger space I can just move out! easy as pie!!!

What a relief, the party is over and I'll have crafty space. Just wish I could do more music with those guys...

I can't believe that Tom and Shawna's wedding is next weekend, and the weekend after that is Christmas!!! :O :O :O Where does the time go? Madness.
