So apparently G's fam would probably want me to sing something when I'm down there. G suggested perhaps a Shakira song. woof. Now I like her stuff, but one that *I* could do is another story... We'll see what I can come up with. I like the idea of the challenge of learning and performing a song all in Spanish. Unfortunately it would be in front of a bunch of people who know it WAY better than me. I'd pretty much only have the 'cute gringa' thing going for me. :) I'm sure they'd appreciate me trying!
So yeah, I spent much of the morning listening to the 5 Shakira songs I have on repeat trying to soak something in while I was fixing frame templates.
Got home and starting looking at her stuff on iTunes and stumbled across Juanes. G had put Fijate Bien on a mix for me before, so that was the only song of his I knew, but I liked it A LOT, so I started listening to clips from his albums. It's nice music, even if I don't understand all the lyrics yet! ;) Ended up downloading Un Dia Normal cuz it was really cheap but had good variety, and I'm really happy with it. Yay!
And then tonight there was a Flapjaw Larry concert at Cafe Paradiso. We got there pretty late and only stayed an hour, (still not all better yet) but they still played "She's a Little Monster" and "Brownfinger", two of my faves. w00t! Rob has a good new one called "Ostrich Love". The had a great crowd of people who were really dancing up a storm, I'm so glad. Wish they could get some more exposure and gigs, they are so good! It's hard because they all have other lives too. They need like a publicist or agent/manager or something. If that's what they want... I just assume.
The baby is coming! L is in labour! It's a full moon too! and it was so funny, I had a new movie from Blockbuster when I got home, I opened it and the title of the movie was "Birth"! I loved it when the universe syncs up like that. *grin*
