It never ceases to amaze me... the amount of time I spend day to day THINKING about stuff to blog that never makes it in here... sigh.
Yahoo Messenger has come out with version 3.0 beta for mac. Where I can see people's avatars, and the emoticons are animated. Still can't see the "Audibles" but they say the next beta will include voice, so I suppose they are working on it. About time! I'm so sick of Mac getting short shifted on those fun things! grrrr.
So after work today I went to my mom's office to show her some paint chips against a pillow from our bed set, because I want to paint the bedroom this weekend. The color it is right now does NOT go with our bed, and I want to do something to claim the place as ours, and I want time for the paint odors to dispel before we actually move in. So this weekend it is.
But of course when I got to my mom's office we ended up talking for probably an hour or more?! Besides the paint stuff, we both got new phones recently, so we were figuring stuff out and taking pictures of each other so that when we call the picture of other person shows up and has a special ring tone. I showed her the brochure for my special new custom orthodics I just ordered today. $304! Eeps!
I've been having trouble with my foot for maybe a month? So I finally decided to go to the chiropractor, and he's been making adjustments but they aren't sticking. He's recommended these orthodics before, but I was in no position to afford them. Now I have a Flex plan, so that should help a bit. We'll have to see how much I have left over after all this, plus my contacts, because I also wanted to go to the dentist and get my teeth cleaned... anyhoo. so I have like 4 appointments in a row and nothing is really working, and he finally puts some tape on my arches to hold them up and tells me to walk around the room. Sure enough, it's noticeably WAY better... argh. So in doing a bit of research online this morning, I also see that orthodics can help prevent shin splints - something I get quite often. Well, finding out that the flat feet were the cause of SEVERAL things that happen to me, and noticing that this is probably the 3rd time in the past maybe 5-6 years that I've tried to start exercising and am foiled by foot/leg/ankle related injury after a month or two, well, makes me think maybe it's time and worth giving these things a try. They should be here in about a week, two max. In the mean time I'm supposed to keep my feet taped up during the day. Not the most comfortable, but better than the pain, so yeah. I hope it's a long term solution when I get the shoe inserts!
So I was talking about depressing Colombian movies with my mom (she and J couldn't make it through "Maria Full of Grace". I personally found it fascinating and watched it a second time with the directors commentary, but yeah, it's not for everyone) and we hear this huge crash that rocked the building. We hear a yelp from some kid outside and through the big bay window see a bunch of people looking over at the building. Going to the window and looking down, we can see that they big red truck that was parked next to me has jumped the curb and smashed right into the enclosed stairwell leading up to the second floor! Some older woman got out of the car and started walking away - I think she was actually going to get someone to call for help, but it was weird. And my car was fine, thank goodness.
Finally leave and make my way to Wal-Mart, end up there til 9pm getting paint, rollers and other painting supplies, file folders, a 3 ring binder and plastic sheet protectors for our veggie recipes from the farm, dish sponges, masking tape and foot tape and some juice and cream cheese for our breakfast fund at work.
Almost forgot the exciting news! The girly trip in September is in full swing! Most of us bought tickets within a few days of each other, and then after a conference call to confirm our price ranges and desires, I find a place that seems pretty cool to stay in, right by the beach in San Clemente! The lady writes back pretty quickly and seems so friendly and sweet, and the girls all think it's great, so boom-boom, tickets and a place to stay! We still need to secure the reservation, but she said she'd hold the place for us and get back to me about the details, so I'm pretty excited. It seems like it's going to be great! I just wish everyone could come, but life is life, and we just have to deal with it I guess. :P
So yeah. Moving is going to be hectic, and the basement is definitely NOT going to be finished by then, but the boys will move in to Jeffrey's house with mom for a while, although who knows what Collin will be up to by then. His latest plan is to get a job with a programming company in San Fran, so we'll see what happens I guess! I wish him luck and success! He's so smart, I'd love to see him in a job that is challenging and fun and giving him a sense of accomplishment.
