I need to see "A Mighty Wind" again... that line was funny! and it crept into my work day for much of the afternoon, heh heh. Stacy was cracking up, but I think it started to get on Laura's nerves. I tried to restrain myself. really. but it just came out.
Spent like 3 hrs? scraping paint off the trim and baseboards in the master bedroom tonight. NOT FUN. teh suck. But it needs to be done, and now is better than later, when we will have all our stuff in there. I wore a little face masky thing, because we weren't sure if any of the underlayers of paint we old and lead-based, yippee! The layer of paint just below the white on the trim in that room is EXACTLY the same color as our walls are now!!! I don't know if the whole room was that way, or just the trim, but it's a bit freaky... I mean, I put a chipped off part up on the wall, and you couldn't tell the difference! The trim has also been various shades of blue/turquoise. Eeenteresting. Made me wonder about the other generations who have lived there, what they thought, why they made their particular decorating choices, etc.
We've moved all our food (minus breakfast stuff) over to my mom's, since our fridge isn't working and the mini fridge is small and lame.
Took a shower tonight to wash off the chipped paint, and ended up washing like 5 tiny roaches down the drain, YUCK. G got a big one on the counter when he came home, and I had to chase one out of my purse this morning!! - I guess I left it on the floor last night? But EEEEEEWWWW! This old house is GROSS. I guess it IS one of the oldest houses in Fairfield, but yuuuucky!!! SOOOOO, so, so glad we are leaving. I just hope we don't bring too many of those nasty things with us. I'm SURE they have crawled into our stuff... SHUDDER!!!!!! BARF!!! ACK!!!!
On that pleasant note, I'm off to bed, way too late again, hope I can make it to bike riding in the morning!
yargh!
