So I took a nap today, at a rather late hour - like 5:30 or something? for 2 or 3 hours? so of course I'm not really tired at bedtime and I'm feeling like I didn't get to do anything particularly productive today. I guess it was supposed to be a rest day, but hrm...
So since it's after 8, rather than call the two people I had tentitive plans with? Stay home and sorta watch The Matrix with G/sorta surf for MUM alumni on MySpace. whatever.
I DID unload the dishwasher, and reload it with most of the newly dirty stuff.
Oh yeah, and I took a shower today, washed my hair and everything. thought that maybe for the first time since I got my new haircut I'd try to style it, but that's shortly before I fell asleep, so yeah, slept on it wet. damn.
And I also, of course, decided that NOW would be the perfect time to try out the new blogger beta, and give my blog template a facelift. New house, new blog I suppose? And just like moving house, I got rid of some stuff, found some fairly familiar places to put the old stuff, and some stuff I either can't figure out where the heck it went, or I'm not sure where I want it to go yet.
We got the blinds for the bedroom! they sent them in two separate boxes that came one day after the other, and were WAY, WAY too huge for the little blind box inside. Probably could have fit like 6 blinds into one box, seriously! and darn if they aren't another color than the one we got at Target in IC!! Close, but not the same. At least they are the same as each other, so I guess we'll hang those two in the front and the greener one on the side window. Drats. They're still nice, probably just a different dye lot or something. Now I'm itching to put them up, but we need to finish painting the window trim first. I thought about leaving the inner parts white, but unfortunately between the paint peeling and my initial scraping, we really can't leave them like that. Drats!!! Foiled again. Soon I guess.
Went to see the new incarnation of Afrochinstrap last night - Dr. Hypnocracy. Not bad! And they're adding a bunch of originals to their mix, which is pretty cool. Collin discovered wireless at Morningstar when he was setting up to record, so he decided to simultaneously broadcast the concert too! He had a few people logged on for a while. P had come into Morningstar with me but decided he didn't want to do the High School crowd so didn't go into the actual room. I texted him the address for the concert and he logged on for a good while! G logged on for a little bit, and one of Collin's friends in Ames was there for the duration. Chris P and a few others were talking to the mic between sets, and the listener would skype back their responses. It was a fun little set up. Pirate radio or something :)
Oh! I submitted 3 photos to the Weekly Reader, and they picked my coffee cup one to feature this week! It didn't come out that great - reduced to b&w newsprint style, but it's still cool to be chosen!
Ok, I think I can be tired now...
Argh. this is gonna mess with my whole sleepingness... but I guess I really needed the nap... bloody hell...
