Rehearsal is essential

Yup. Well, I dunno about anyone else, but I think the show went MUCH more smoothly this week. We came at 5:30, rehearsed for a little over an hour, went our various ways to grab food and came back in time for a 10 minute warm up, which was about all we needed since we'd been working for an hour already. Jennie came by and ended up jumping in for the pickup a line game. Actually she called me right as the first game was beginning, rather embarrassing that my phone started ringing. Totally forgot to turn it off. bad me! But I'm glad she came, so I guess it's ok...
Erin came too. She actually drove down from Chicago yesterday. She'd been up there looking for jobs and apartments, but Dave's family sorta let her know she'd worn out her welcome, or at least she felt uncomfortable there, but wasn't quite ready to go home either. So coming here is a nice neutral place to sort things out in yer brain. My room of course was a DEEESASTOR! I got it partially clean before I had to go to rehearsal, but I at least got the bed cleared off and made so she could nap/meditate when she came in. Then after rehearsal it took quite a bit of time to get it to a place where we could bring the mattress in, but yeah... we slept pretty late so I guess it's ok. It's still messy but there's room, and it may inspire me to do little bits at a time during the rest of the week.
It appears that the engagement period brings up a LOT of questioning and issues that didn't exist on the forefront before the engagement. I guess things start to matter more when the idea of a forever commitment becomes more real. Wow. I think that's both good and a bit scary. but more good really. I'd rather know stuff BEFORE getting married than after. Although life and relationships are an eternal process anyway. Still some big chunks that can be dealt with. I hope I have some resources here that might help her. Lord knows I have a gagillion relationship books, and my dad has 2 gagillion! :D
Whoa. Is engagement the essential rehearsal to the performance of marriage? the part where you figure out how the game is played, and if you are even playing the same game? And the more you work out in rehearsal, the smoother and more enjoyable the show?
I was thinking with improv and Lucas that we might both be saying that we are playing football, but one of us is playing soccer, and the other American football, or maybe two game that are a little more similar, but yeah. The same basic idea, get the ball to the goal, slightly different rules... And we need to decide as a group if our rules are the ones that everybody who joins us plays by, or if we want to adopt some of the rules that "outsiders" bring in...
