I'm a slacker!!

- and an old one at that! Yeah, my birthday was last week and I'm all 26 now. Seriously, I can't tell any difference. I'm just recording it for the record so I remember. Speaking of other things to remember, I found some letters I wrote recently, so rather than writing it all again, here they is:

1) I had a great day yesterday, and then a bit of a melt down tonight. I think I wore myself out or something... I ended up in kind of a limbo of having cake and watching tv and thinking I would get up and go to the gym "pretty soon" and never quite giving up and committing to a "night off" and making a real salad dinner and watching a movie, like I wanted to... So now I am frustrated, tired, a little bit hungry and beating myself up about it.

Also my apartment neighbor came over to (very kindly!) complain about the heating situation, and I got really embarassed and freaked out because I hadn't really met him before, my place was a mess, I wasn't really dressed properly (because why would a stranger knock on my door? I wasn't expecting it) and he was asking me to deal with it in the opposite way that my landlord said to. Unfortunately the landlord is out of town for another week, so I'm not sure what to do, but I'll try keeping the heat in a mid ground and we exchanged numbers so he can just call me now instead of coming over...

I talked to the HR director, it turns out the Insurance company dropped the ball, so it's a good thing I checked. My papers were originally sent in November, and they claim they never got them! I should get my cards in 7-10 days from now...

2)Well, I ended up going to the gym on Friday instead of Thursday, so I still met my goal of twice a week at least! I also was really happy about following through with a deal I made my self at work - there is a new coffee shop that opened right behind our office, and the yummy smells are wafting in all day long - very tempting! I made a deal that Fridays are coffee days, so I don't have to worry about resisting, because I KNOW when I get to have it. Also better for my budget too! And I guess if I don't feel like having something on Friday I don't have to, but it helps get through the week. The other thing I did was I printed out a picture of a really pretty wedding dress and put it up next to my computer, which also helped me choose a cup of tea for my "snack".

I had a really nice party for myself on Saturday at my mom's house. I invited girlfriends over for a spa day. I was a little freaked because my "inner Martha Stewart" (as my one friend so accurately identified, I think she has one too ) wanted everything to be perfect and set up and ready, but I quickly let go and just let people help set things up. When we did foot soaks I got to give almost everyone a nice foot massage in the water with salts, and then dry their feet and massage them againg with lotion my mom made. It felt like such a blessing or a yagya to wash everyone's feet!!!

Today my mom had a collage making party to celebrate her birthday, and that was neat to do and see everyone else's and their explainations of what images spoke to them. I ended up making two - one about me, and one about getting married. It was really nice, because I had made a collage about a year ago that was very different in nature, and it was neat to see the growth that had happened since then!

So there you go, a brief little encapsulated version of things lately. Oh, one more thing - I moved up to full time at work (ie adding an extra hour in the morning to my day), and they are giving me more responsibilities, and a little raise! woo-hoo! more money rocks!!! Feeling important and valued rocks more! Having less time and needing to go to bed earlier and get up earlier kinda sucks!!! argh. oh well, it's bearable, and forces me to get on a better schedule, more or less. Although I haven't been doing that good at the whole bedtime thing lately. Have been pretty good about getting to the gym at least twice a week, if not 3 times. Would love to move up to 4 or 5 times, which is all the more reason to get to work at 8, so I can leave at 5!!!

G is here to help me keep on track with sending out our Save the Date invites. They are really cute! If only I could get them out into the mail!
