Blogging from the Road!

Blogging at a rest stop on I-80Posted by Picasa

G's turn! Posted by Picasa

So I'm sitting at a rest stop in Iowa, about 15 minutes from Des Moines on our way back from Boulder, and they have free wireless internet, how crazy is that? G was really wanting to try it out the whole trip, cuz it's just kind of a neato concept, and he brought his laptop with him on the trip. Right now he's taking a little nap though - we didn't actually leave Boulder till like 9pm on Sunday, because Sarah was just getting back from HER trip, and I was like, if we came all this way, I know in my lifetime I'll feel better about at least having dinner with her than just jumping in the car and heading out without seeing her. So that was good, but it meant a late start for us. We drove till like 4am or so and found a Super 8 in Kearney (remember when we camped there?) I woke up halfway at 7:15 like usual, and then jolted awake at about nine, dashed out to the lobby to grab some crummy muffins and juice for breakfast and came back to the room and slept until S called me from work looking for a file on my computer. She felt bad about calling and waking me up, but we needed to get going anyway, and I DID call her like 3 or 4 times on her vacation, so tit for tat! :D

Finally got on the road again at about 11am, and we're a little more than 2 hrs from home, but since G is definitely not going to make it on time to work this afternoon, we decided to take a little break. The weather is fabulous, not to hot or cold, and it would be a little more restful if the traffic of I-80 wasn't rushing by, but what can you do, it IS a rest stop! hee hee.
I remember when on my CO road trip with the girls, we stopped at some rest stop and were doing all these stretches and stuff, and some people came up and asked if we were acrobats? ha ha! That was pretty funny!

I seem to have gotten over my cranky patch, thank goodness. I guess it's better to end a trip on a good note, even if there was roughness (admittedly of my own creation!) in the beginning.
