The beauty of having my OWN computer at my disposal, and wireless! whoo! It's way too late, but I needed a little me time cuz I went straight from work to gym to speedy shower and a few bites of food in the car to Blues concert at Morningstar. Which was great, but I HAD heard a lot of the songs before. All good ones, but hrm. Can't complain though really.
Had this thought at some point during the concert about how I should get a little digital video camera and make a really low-fi movie or music video or something. I have no idea of what, but I HAVE been having these slight creative urges lately, maybe one of them will blossom out. I guess I really oughta pay off the computer first before buying ANOTHER toy, and it's not like I couldn't have access to one of my brothers' if I had a concrete idea in mind. I feel like my life is too boring to have anything interesting enough for other people to want to hear the story, but that can't be true, and what about imagining things? That could go and be anywhere. I've been trying to imagine better things lately. Like I came up with making a huge hampster tube and wheel for cats. (prolly already exists... :( ) cuz RJ was talking about wanting a cat but not having the room for it in his apartment, so I was trying to come up with ways he could make the cat more comfortable and feel like it had more places to go. I think it started with him saying he needed a space heater and me saying he should get a cat instead because they are little fuzzy purring heaters. He wasn't too keen on the mega hampster wheel idea, or on getting a bunny (too much poop) so I finally came up with that he should get one of those teddy bears you can put a hot water bottle in fuzzy comforts and heat all in one, minus the poop and feeding. Brilliant. *grin* Or taking breaks inside of posters of cool places. I like that invention.
DAR IS COMING TO IOWA CITY IN NOVEMBER!!!! got my tix already. She's gonna play in the Englert. cool. I think I went to one of if not the last movie they showed there before it shut down and I haven't been to anything since it turned back into a real theatre. So the question is, do I get the new album now or wait till the concert? I feel like the money goes more directly to her if I buy it at the concert, but who knows really? AND sometimes it's really nice to know the words before to help enjoy the music. But sometimes it's nice to be fresh and then get the CD and learn the words after, and it sounds better than it would without having gone to the concert because you have a layer of experience you are wrapping around the songs... wah. I dunno. I'll figure it out soon I guess. When I went to see her in NYC it had only come out that very day I think, so I didn't really have the option. huh. I was bummed that they didn't have the CD's at the actual concert, they got held up by the snowstorm. But it was a fun adventure walking around SoHo and East Village trying to find a record store for pretty much all of the next day.
NYC, crazy place. I really have liked the nice long visits I've had there, but I don't think I'd really be happy living there for very long. I guess I can see why Eli is leaving. I hope San Fran gives him the experience he wants.
Everyone is freaking leaving. End of summer indeed. (10 points if you get the reference!) Heather and Scott, Serenity and John, Damien, Ann's gone already, so is Soma. Other people are just moving around or have recently in their town or starting new jobs or school again or whatever. It's such a time of change. Madness. We really do seem to function on school year time, even if we aren't in school any more.
Galen & Liza's reception was good times! I was a little nervous, it's not like we were great friends in HS. Not bad ones either, just our paths didn't cross much, other than I knew he was one of the "cool guys" heehee. It's neat now that we all have our distinct personalities to find out what everyone is up to and stuff, and the reminiscing isn't as intimidating because it's so long ago who cares?! Liza is a total doll, from what I can tell. Good deal, I hope they're really happy!
Alright, alright. BED!!!!
