Pretty Table and Wireless!

The new chairs and table, set with the new pretty dishes! Posted by Picasa

A picture of the new pretty table! Hooray! I'm SO happy with it!

G got us hooked up with wireless (sharing with the guy upstairs so it's cheaper w00t!) and left his laptop here like a nice, nice person, so I've had a lovely evening surfing the web and such to my hearts content.

Had a pretty good Labor Day weekend. Kept it pretty low key but got some good things done. Ran into Chris at the Farmer's Market (did ok, made back my table money and a bit more) and he said they were trying to get rid of some furniture cuz of moving, so we got not one but TWO dressers, a really nice desk that G is keeping in his office on campus, and scored a nice standing mirror for N. G helped him move the stuff on Monday, which was actually good, because otherwise C was going to have to move them to My Lucky Day himself, so G actually helped get them off their hands, and we got the stuff to use! We also got rid of the stinky armoire for now, Jeffery says he'll keep it for us and see about maybe painting the inside to keep the smell under the paint or something, and when we move to a bigger place, maybe we'll be able to use it again, because I do really like it. Now I just have to start organizing the clothes and stuff, because while the bedroom now looks great, the living room is full of all the stuff I took out to make room for the moving big furniture around. Woof.

We finally got all of G's papers off on Saturday. Took quite a bit longer than I expected, but I'm glad we checked over everything and made copies and all that. I hope, hope, hope everything goes smoothly and well and in a timely way!!!! eeps! So much money, so many papers. It seems so insulting and invasive. The ones who want to do it the right way get jerked around, and the people who want to get in the wrong way are still doing it anyway, so what does it really help. poopy poop poop.

Getting ready for the fashion show, but not sure exactly when and where it's going to happen now, since the building doesn't have A/C ugh. It's been so disorganized, rather frustrating actually, but I'm not taking it too seriously so that's ok. Other people are freaking about it though... We'll see what happens I guess. I think it'll be pulled off in the end, but oi! I'd volunteer a bit more, but I don't want to step on anyone's toes, although it's a bit hard to tell who is in charge, honestly... It just seems like it could be organized a little more to take advantage of the model's time and keep everyone happy. sigh. We'll see. I just wanted to be involved in something a bit creative.

I did make this great hat, I hope it gets used! S helped me figure out my outfit for the preview show during ArtWalk - pink lacy top cami, black pants, pink low-tops, pink elbow length satin gloves. Stacy said it would be great if I had a top hat, so I started tying to make one but obviously wasn't going to finish before the evening, and ended up wearing my cowboy hat with the pink sequin butterfly. Later on when I got home I saw the basket of silk rose petals that Jennie and Celeste sprinkled around our honeymoon suite and realized it would be cool to have them all over the whole hat! I got a bit of shiny burgandy fabric to use as a base and started hot gluing away, and a bit of time later, wha-hoo! A red rose petal hat! I was extra proud of it because I came up with it out of my head!

ArtWalk was totally fun. A bunch of us got dressed up and stood really still on red milk crates for about 2 hrs! Switching positions, but basically silent and still for most of the time. It was cool, all the different reactions from everyone. At one point the kids started moving my arms around, and I'd just leave them in whatever position they put them. It could handle it because they'd come back to move it again, so it was never for very long. It was funny too, how kids were like "You blinked!" as if I was breaking some law or failing at my job, but I knew they were just silly. The only person who cracked me was Collin, and that was early on, after that I didn't at all, even for people who really tried. heh heh! It was a little weird, a bunch of people took my picture, and I'm not even sure who, some of them even posing with me and playing with my boa and stuff. Nutzo! but a blast.

Oh yeah, Nola got a kitty from the Farmer's Market. A teeny, 7 week old black girl kitty, SO cute! It's fun to get to play with her and see the innocence of such a young little thing. Such a simple life! yay for kittywampus love!
