How the Move is Going (or Holy Crap, I'm Freaking Out!)

Last Night:

Get home from work sometime around 6pm. Have yogurt and cereal. Shift papers around in the living room so I can take pictures "to remember how I wanted it to look" of each individual corner, without having to actually clean/file anything.

7:30 - Realize that the Sperry concert is going to be packed to the gills, and I'd better get my butt over there if I want a seat. G comes home and I tell him the living room is photographed and available for packing, we discuss minor logistics and both decide I should go to my mom's to eat the pear from the Ecovillage.

7:45 - Get to the house, my mom is there on the computer figuring out finances, and we talk more logistics (she cleaned out this or that cupboard, the boys are going to be selling their beds and get to keep the $, we'll be borrowing J's truck on Sunday for the big stuff, so she still has one more day to move some of HER big stuff out, how I'm nervous about my foot and probably shouldn't be putting the weight of big heavy stuff on it) Notice that it's 7:57, I still need to stop by the ATM and I'm not going to be getting to the concert early. (The pear and peach were delicious, bytheway)

8:10 - Drive up to the Broadway Building after a quick stop at the bank, see that the parking lot behind Taco Bell is full and start to worry, since Regina's isn't even open and therefore 95-100% of the cars are for the concert. It also means that the East parking lot right by the entrance is probably full and I'll have to walk pretty far to get there. Pull into the East parking lot anyway and find a space! Get into the concert and snag a seat on the couch in the back.

8:30? - Concert starts late, as I expected. I was never worried about missing the beginning, only about getting a place to sit. It's a sweet evening of Daniel's friends playing with him, reading poetry, singing, etc for the last time in who knows when. I get a couple pictures and crappy little videos on the digital camera for memories. Ali is great as usual, even though she complains of forgetting the words a couple times during the night. It's ok, it's more of an extended family situation and everyone is forgiving. I get a mix of Donatella and Snozberry gelato at the half, in the big cup. Sarah and I had talked with Meret a week or two before about making Snozberry gelato, just to see what people would say, and if they asked what it tasted like, only every replying that "Snozberries taste like snozberries!!" Although Meret did tell me that it was fresh blackberry with a bit of raspberry syrup, because the blackberries didn't have enough punch on their own. I somehow thought I was detecting a hint of cinnamon?!, but not sure. It was yum though.

11:00? 11:30? I get home, G has finished making caramel and packed up the books in the entertainment center, and a few things from the white shelves. Announces that we need to move everything he's packed up tonight, so we can unpack the boxes at the house and bring them back to refill. I am exhausted after 3 nights in a row of staying up till 1:15am and want to go to bed. Our compromise is to bring the boxes over but not unpack them.

12:00am? We bring boxes, plants a small bookshelf, CD's and other random stuff over to the house. Collin helps unload. We talk with both the boys about the foundation and how it may need some work. Tommy makes some ridiculous claims about how the wood is just expanding, and that's why the doors and windows don't all work, and it has nothing to do at all with the house settling. We all have a ridiculous arguement just trying to get Tommy to agree that it COULD, just possibly have something to do with the foundation, and he finally says he's going to go online and learn how to check with a level himself.

1:00am Check out Collin's programming tests he's making as part of his interview process, write silly answers.

1:15am - come home. Realize that G never made it to soccer last night, and therefore never got the chance to ask any of them for help moving the big stuff. Freak out a little about that. Mention how if the ground is dry, we can pull the big truck up on the grass by the porch for easier loading. Crash into bed too tired to take a shower.

TODAY
Wake up around 6:45am (normal time for work) Notice it's raining and think "shit, shit, shit." Go back to bed and doze on and off till 9:37.

9:37am - Get up, start freaking out. G gets up shortly after asks me to come back and suggle. Am too wired and spazzed to be lying in bed, so open up blogger to start a new entry and try to get the freakouts on to a page and out of my head. Get distracted by several blogs of note, and the history of blogs of note, and the start of podcasting, spoofs of the new Mac commercials on YouTube. (Hi, I'm a Mac. And I'm a PC. I'm Linux!) Eat another bowl of yogurt and granola.

11:06 am - Tobi calls, and I go switch out the laundry and start packing/organzing a few random knick-knacks for about an hour while on the phone. Take down some sticky hooks I used to hang a picture, and some of the wallpaper comes away with them. Think "shit, shit, shit!" again and wonder if the white paint I got to patch up the ceiling at home is the same color as the walls. They seem more off-white though...

12:08 pm - G calls to find out if I need any food and to let me know he got more boxes. Says he will be here soon.

12:21 pm - Finally start this entry.

12:54 pm - Mail has come, I'm curious to go see what's in it, and G is still not back. Better get moving. Literally...
