Videos from My Concert!

Cross post from MySpace:

So, I'd say the concert on Saturday was a success! We could have had more people show up, but I sure worked my butt off promoting, so I don't know what else I really could have done. We had a lot of competition as far as stuff going on around town, plus it was raining! The people who DID come were totally awesome, supportive and attentive and we all had a blast! Thank you audience! You ROCK!!

My brother brought his video camera and recorded me playing, here's one of my brand new songs. I wrote the lyrics in my online class through Berklee School of Music:

When I finished playing this one my dad shouted out from his seat, "I didn't know I was going to have such an emotional experience here!" It was the first time I'd ever played it out, and he had never heard it before. But he assured me that he liked it. :)

This one was inspired by a local family building their own cob house last summer. Check out the article to read about their process, it's pretty amazing: http://www.iowasource.com/home_garden/2008_11_cob.html

I have some more up on my YouTube channel, and a few more that I will add later when I get the chance.

Ehren Ebbage was amazing. It was so nice to see him play live again. That guy knows how to write a song, I tell you! My brother is still working on the videos he took there, but he took some stills that are up on my flickr - here's one of both of us at the end of the nightEhren Ebbage and Me at Cafe Paradiso

I was very happy and fulfilled about the whole experience. At one point after Open Mic last week I was a little worried about how I might feel after the show because often after an Open Mic I get very shakey and nervous, (rather than before, strange eh?) so I thought, wow, if this is how nervous I get after TWO songs, how will I feel after SEVEN? But I felt great! I got to share my music with people and and then I got to hear a great concert right after that! What a night! The start of many good things I think. :)
