Oh before I forget, since I've been putting up tributes to concerts here, my latest new person is Ariane Lydon. Very cool, celtic flavored music. She has this one song where she plays the harp and the 12-string guitar AT THE SAME TIME! It's freakin' amazing. Seriously. (the song is called Fireflies)

Ariane Lydon. I bought this CD! Go get your own: http://www.arianelydon.com/ordercds.html#stillshemoves

I guess part of what makes the month crazy it it's December. Christmas, end of the year, lots of parties, and for me this year: a craft fair. That went pretty well. I got about $100 after expenses. This is without even remotely taking into account the amount of time I put into it, but that's ok because it makes me happy right? Right. It was a freakin' nutty weekend though. We had an open house at work Friday afternoon, and Stacy and I spent the whole 2 days before (it seemed like the whole 2 days...) picking out and hanging pictures in the lobby/halls to get ready for it. It was a bit nutzy because the Cafe ordered a bunch of pix that didn't come in time, so we had to scramble with what we had to make it work, and we did, thankyouverymuch! But it was crazy to be on our feet so much after being so used to sitting in front of a computer all day. So yeah, that, then I had the play, which was held over, and I wasn't really happy about. Loves the people, had stuff to do - like the company Christmas party, which was a nice dinner at Regina's. So I missed the cocktail hour, and dinner, and came running in and basically hopped right up on stage in fully make-up to perform a few more songs, when we'd only had 2 rehearsals. They DID save a plate of food for me and G, but it wasn't the same cold in a box. Oh well, I was hungry. Sat, 9AM had to go set up for the craft fair, which oh yeah I forgot to mention, Stacy and I went over there Fri lunch to start setting up! Fair was from 10-4:30ish, then play again and off to Torino's for an after play cast get together, which was great, but meant staying up late. Craft fair is again on Sunday till 4pm, but then we have to stay and put the house back in order. Normal Sunday night at Heather's, and gone was my weekend. All good for the most part really, but it was hectic and I didn't really get a chance to rest.
This weekend I thought I'd try the indoor Farmer's Market. Big mistake.... the heat was barely working, and I barely made back my table money. Bit of a waste of a morning. At least during the summer it's nice out and fun and social. This was miserable. But I had no way of knowing that no one would show up. You'd think, the weekend before Christmas they'd be looking for gifts. Oh well. After that I went home and helped a little with getting family presents ready to ship, and then G and I made a mad dash to Ottumwa. I did more me shopping than X-mas shopping, I wanted to find something to wear to the Merch party at Chris & De's house, and we only had a couple of hours. It was soooo frustrating because nothing fit me and I was freaking out and not wanting to be over or under-dressed. Ay yi yi.
This Friday I was FREEEEEEEEEEEEE for the first time in months!!! It was weird to look at my computer clock at work and realize I DIDN'T have to jump up and run off to the theater!Tobi had a little get together at her place so she could be sure and see people while she's in town. Yummy food, sweet girls, good stories. Then last night was the Chris Christmas party. It was fun once we found it... He put the wrong address in his email invite, so we spent quite a while trying to find it! not just missing a number, but the wrong road entirely!!! yipes! And then this afternoon was the cast party. We signed posters, ate food and watched bits and pieces of the FIRST version that Rodney did of OUAM. The pace was SO slow! wow. but it was pretty funny, and nutsy to see all the baby versions of people!
G and I got a Jyotish reading, which turned things a bit upside down. Date-wise that is, the guy said we were meant for each other, a perfect match, but there would be roughness and doubts Jan-May(march?). But that seems to happen to a lot of engagements. It brings up all the questions. Apparently July is a good month, but not till later on in July. and the good dates we got were a Thursday and a Wednesday. So argh. As of now we're gonna go for the Thurs the 14th, and do something on the weekend too so people can come. My dad knows the routine of doing the Jyotish and then the church wedding, so we can ask him about it.
I got a tree and decorated it all sparkley silver and purple! yay! it's tall and skinny, and just fits in between my bed and my kitchen counter. I'm all wiggly excited about it. I also decorated my window and porch with lights, and snowflake lights. I've gotten very into the spirit this year. :D Not sure what it is, but it feels good. Although, it's funny. I'm into the spirit decorating wise, but I'm somehow not inspired to give gifts or make the cards or anything. Which is really bizzare. That always used to be my favorite part. I'm not sure what's wrong. It just seems like so much work, all the choosing and wrapping and sending, not to mention spending money. woof. Where is this Grinchley-ness coming from? Maybe I've just been too overwhelmed lately, and now I have a chance to get into it. There's still a few days left!
