New Song! Winter Time

I gave myself an assignment last night, to write, record and post a seasonal song. At the last minute I added one more requirement, that I use my partial capo. It came out pretty fast, maybe 20-30 minutes. I'm still liking it a day later, so that's a good sign I think, and it's gotten a pretty good reception on Facebook. In a moment of inspiration while recording, I threw on my hat from Peru and my fingerless glove (thanks Nandi, a million times over! I've been using them a lot these days!), which got me a bit more in the mood because it only took a few tries after that. :)

I just used my built-in computer mic, lyrics are below.

Lucky for me the hours I'm working counting absentee ballots are 8am-10pm today, not 6am-10pm as I thought previously. Whew! Although I supposed it could go later if there are a lot to count? Anyway, I'm just happy not to have to get up at 5:30am!

But anyways folks, this is it! Can you believe it? How long has it been since we started hearing about this election? 2 years? yeesh. I'm so ready for it to be done!

I love how they squish down so small, and they have a keychain hook, so I never forget it. Especially since most of my times to the store are unplanned, on the way home form work or something.

I Love Fairfield!

This is a 7 minute little video that was submitted to the "Iowa Great Places" contest a while back, and is now up on YouTube. This is a new and improved version though, the one I saw was pretty heavy on the pictures of kids carving pumpkins, and had less of the local shops and companies. But Fairfield was one of 6 cities chosen, even based on the first version of this video, so now we're getting a bunch of grants to help complete various projects around town.

And I Thought The iPhone Was Cool...

Ok, I still think the iPhone is cool, and while it's way out of my price range and we don't really have the service provider out here, at the price of this coffee table computer, I'd be getting the phone a whole lot sooner.

That doesn't mean this video and the whole multi-touch concept isn't awesome. It is. This vid roxors hardcore. Just watch it. omg.

So the video quality is really bad cuz it's outside at night, and there's a bit of a low buzz in the background - that would be the frogs and crickets singing backup, but despite all that I thought the audio came off pretty well for a little digital camera and therefore worth sharing.

I showed it to Rachel first and got the go-ahead that it was ok to share. :)

I *think* the song is called "Lovesong" but I could be completely wrong! Anyway, enjoy!
